WHAT IS A DIAMOND BLADE? 
A diamond blade is a cutting tool with industrial diamonds attached to its edge, 
used for cutting hard materials such as concrete, stone, brick, tile and asphalt.

WHAT CAUSES A DIAMOND BLADE TO WARP? 
A diamond blade can warp when it overheats due to excessive pressure, improper cutting 
technique, inadequate cooling or using the wrong blade for the material. Warping can 
reduce cutting performance and also create safety hazards. When cutting dry, it is best 
to pull the blade out of the cut every few seconds, then let it free-spin for a few seconds. 
This will keep it cool and minimize the risk of warping. 
 
 
HOW DO DIAMOND BLADES WORK? 
Diamond blades work by grinding away material rather than cutting it like a traditional 
saw blade. The industrial diamonds embedded in the blade's segments wear away the material while the metal bond gradually exposes new diamonds. 
 
 
WHY IS WATER IMPORTANT WHEN CUTTING WITH A DIAMOND BLADE? 
Water keeps the blade cool, minimizes dust, improves cutting performance and extends blade life. A dry-cutting diamond blade can generally be used with water if desired. 
 
 
DO YOU HAVE A BLADE FOR PRE-CUTTING PRIOR TO USING MY DIAMOND CHAIN SAW OR RING SAW? 
Yes. See below. Pre-cutting before using a diamond chain saw or ring saw improves accuracy and safety by creating a guide for the blade. It helps prevent blade wandering, reduces vibration and stress on the tool, and results in cleaner, more efficient cuts.

WHAT'S A GOOD DIAMOND BLADE FOR CUTTING CONCRETE? 
The best diamond blade for cutting concrete depends on the material and application. For general-purpose cured concrete, the Cougar HS is an economical, high-performance choice. If you're cutting reinforced concrete with rebar, the Cougar S is our recommended blade for fast, aggressive cutting, while the Cougar HD features a heavy-duty matrix for longer blade life. For contractors combo-cutting both concrete and asphalt, the Cougar King Combo provides excellent versatility. If your application requires wide cuts for detector loops, trenching, or joint widening, the Cougar X Wide is the ideal solution and is available in thicknesses up to 3/4 inch. CAN A DIAMOND BLADE BE SHARPENED? 
Yes. Diamond blades can be "sharpened" by dressing them. Using a 60 grit dressing/sharpening stone or cutting a piece of abrasive material, such as concrete block will remove cutting debris and expose new diamonds, restoring the cutting performance.

WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED RPM FOR CORE DRILLING CONCRETE? 
This depends on the diameter of the core bit. Smaller diameter bits require higher RPMs, 
while larger bits require lower RPMs. Always follow the manufacturer's recommended speed for optimal performance and diamond bit life. 
 
 
CAN DIAMOND CORE BITS BE USED ON ROTO HAMMER DRILLS? 
Yes, but ONLY IF they are used in rotary drilling mode. Diamond core bits SHOULD NOT be used with the hammer function of a roto hammer drill as the hammer action can damage the bit and reduce its performance and lifespan.
